How West Palm Beach Epoxy Flooring Works

West Palm Beach Epoxy Flooring applies resin coatings to concrete: garage floors, lanais, patios, pool decks, utility rooms, shops, warehouses and other commercial floors in West Palm Beach and the surrounding towns. Our systems include solid epoxy, vinyl flake broadcast floors, polyaspartic coatings, metallic epoxy and pool deck surfaces. We settle on the right one for your floor only after the slab has been tested and inspected.

Near the lagoon, failures seldom start with the resin. They start with water vapor moving up through the slab, a topcoat that breaks down in direct sun, or a coat rolled on during a morning when the concrete sat below the dew point. Our plan accounts for all three. A garage facing west, a condo parking bay, a pool deck in sun from midday on and a service bay that takes brake fluid daily each need their own products and prep, and our written quote names them and explains the choice.

How a job runs with us

  • First, a visit. We measure, check cracks, joints, stains and any old paint or sealer, and find out what the room is used for.
  • Next, a slab test. The moisture reading shows us if an ordinary primer is enough or if the concrete calls for a moisture-tolerant one.
  • Then the plan in writing. Your quote names the system, the prep method, each coat, the square footage and the total.
  • Grinding instead of etching. A diamond grinder exposes fresh, porous concrete for the base coat to bite into. Acid by itself leaves sealers and weak surface paste in place.
  • Repairs come before resin. Cracks, spalled patches and chipped joints are filled and ground level.
  • Conditions get checked. Before every coat we look at air temperature, humidity, slab temperature and dew point. When the readings are off, the coat waits.
  • Return times up front. You hear when the floor can take foot traffic, when your belongings can go back and when the car can come in, depending on the coating used and how hot and humid the install day turns out.
  • Changes go in writing. If removing the old coating uncovers something new, we show it to you and write up the change before going further.

Limits we flag before you pay

Our work is on concrete only. Wood, tile, vinyl plank and asphalt are not surfaces we coat. No coating will stop storm water that runs in under the garage door, a heaving slab or a structural crack. When we spot one of those, you hear about it before paying for a floor. In a condo or a community with an association, find out what the board wants from us, such as product sheets or set work hours, and we will supply it.
